Motherhood, Career & Creating From the Grey Area: A Conversation with Tiffany Laibhen Spence

Motherhood, Career & Creating From the Grey Area: A Conversation with Tiffany Laibhen Spence

On Women of TmrO, a platform dedicated to “women positioning themselves for longevity,” we had the honor of sitting down with Tiffany Laibhen Spence creative, mother, artist, and deeply intentional woman navigating life on her own terms.

Tiffany’s story is one of evolution. Raised in Philadelphia by her Puerto Rican mother after spending her earliest years in Brooklyn, she carries both cities with her NYC’s grit, Philly’s closeness, and an unwavering desire for more space, physically and emotionally. Especially after becoming a mother, she’s found herself craving a slower pace, a yard for her son, and room for expansion.

On Titles and the Freedom to Just Be

When asked what she does, Tiffany pauses. She’s not one for labels. “I just say I’m a creative… I see things in my head and I feel it a certain way and I want to bring that to life.” While many box themselves in as influencers or content creators, she rejects that narrative, fully embracing the grey area between them all.

More than anything, she wants her work to leave people freer, lighter, more inspired. And that, she says, doesn’t always fit inside a clean title. In fact, one of the most liberating answers she’s learned to give is, simply, “I don’t know.”

“There’s a great area. When the answer is ‘I don’t know,’ it’s the most freeing answer.”

The Weight of Energy and Learning Boundaries

Tiffany speaks candidly about being energetically sensitive absorbing people’s emotions easily and deeply. That superpower, however, came with a cost: emotional exhaustion, compassion fatigue, and the pressure to pour into others when she hadn’t yet poured into herself.

“I have to be careful how I spread my energy… I can take a lot on and absorb people’s energy really easily.”

Now, she’s learning to set boundaries and honor her own needs. She’s not interested in constant one-on-one coaching or “saving” others rather, she’s envisioning a community model where people can support each other holistically, without draining her reserves.

Healing Anxiety and Reclaiming Authenticity

Though Tiffany’s content radiates authenticity today, she revealed that much of her earlier self-expression was actually shaped by anxiety. Motherhood exposed this truth, acting as a mirror and calling her into deeper self-awareness.

“I thought my anxious self was my authentic self… but that was a distress response.”

Motherhood forced her into a new level of emotional growth demanding more patience, compassion, and inner work. It also gave her a deeper respect for her own mother and inspired her to parent with vulnerability. Her son has seen her cry. He knows his mom is human. And that’s the point.

“Children start off so authentic. We strip that with our anxieties and what we were mistaught.”

Self-Trust, Meditation & the YouTube Relaunch

Tiffany’s journey back to herself included a pivotal decision to relaunch her YouTube channel, Tiffany TV. But the road to pressing “upload” was steeped in fear and uncertainty.

“I began to lose trust in myself… I had so many ideas but I was just questioning and going back and forth.”

Through daily meditation, journaling, and a commitment to healing, she found clarity. One breakthrough moment emerging from a deep meditation led her to film a video in a single flow state. That video, “Is it you or your anxiety?”, became her most-viewed piece of content. The moment reminded her what happens when she trusts herself.

Now, she centers herself daily with up to an hour of meditation, especially crucial as a mother who values quiet and solitude. Self-care, she says, isn’t a luxury it’s essential to being the mother, wife, creative, and friend she aspires to be.
